Its odd, I just wrote a long winded artists statement about how people keep appearing in my paintings and … well,  they have disappeared. Maybe they are on holiday, or I am even more awkward than even I suspected, but I have completed my last five paintings and each is totally void of people, not one.

I never paint with a plan, it just develops and I was so ready for these canvases, I had run out and had to wait for seemingly ages to get some more. I couldn’t wait to get painting, not my usual deep edged canvas, these are only shallow (the website had listed them as deep but they are not) but they were pristine and square just as I like, so I didn’t send them back but set to work.  Maybe its too shallow for my people, who prefer something with  more depth?
