Beachcombing (2020)

Lino Print

£55.00

How I miss the beach, I long to stroll across the sands, feel the wind in my hair and listen to the waves once again. As I walk along the shallow waves I always look out for finds. A nice pebble which gleams in the water but looks a bit average when dry. A piece of broken pottery rounded by the sea, shells, driftwood and frosted sea-glass which I always think look like ossified drops of the most beautiful aqua seas.
I always come back from the seaside with a pocket full of my finds, my beachcombing treasures which I can take out and touch in the middle of winter and feel magically back there with the sand between my toes and the warm summer air blowing off the land. This print is my call to the sea, I will come back to you soon, I have pockets to fill and memories to take away again.

These beachcombing prints are linocuts, each is created using individually inked linocut blocks. Each block is inked up using more a painterly style using tone and colour combinations to replicate the textures of treasures in nature. This process makes each print distinct from the others in the series, each a unique variation of the same subject making it a variable edition.

Each print is signed, titled and numbered, you might not receive the number seen in the photograph.
